Voukoder does not appear in Davinci Resolve Studio 17

    Hello,

    I am using Davinci Resolve Studio 17, version 17.2 Build 11.

    From the Readme.txt file, from the Connector plugin, resolve-connector-0.5.0.zip :

    1. Extract the contents of this zip file to %ProgramData%\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\IOPlugins

    2. If the IOPlugins directory does not exist, create it

    Support folder does not exist, neither IOPlugins folder.

    I have created both of them and copy the contents of the zip file to IOPlugins folder (e.g voukoder_plugin.dvcp.bundle folder and Readme.txt file)

    I have then installed voukoder-8.msi

    From the C:\Program Files\Voukoder folder, there are the following files

    voukoder.dll

    voukoder.tlb

    I closed and restarted many time Davinci Resolve.

    The option for the voukoder in Deliver/Video/Format does not appear.

    Have I missed something ?

    It was my mistake.

    I used C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design instead of C:\ProgramData\Blackmagic Design

    Sorry for this.

    Now it is working great.

    I have the same issue. I'm running DaVinci Resolve Studio version 17.4.3 build 10. I'm not seeing Voukoder as an option in the delivery tab.

    Potential issue for me - I'm not sure if the main Voukoder software is fully downloaded. It's showing up in my program files but I haven't found how to open it as a separate program.

    I took a closer look at the previous comments and yes, as someone else mentioned my mistake was putting the files under *C:/Program Files...* instead of ***C:/ProgramData...***. For anyone else reading this thread, take note and copy this exact file path from the README doc when extracting your files:

    C:\ProgramData\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Support\IOPlugins

    As the instructions mention, you may need to create the IOPlugins folder. Thanks Vouk admin!

    Sorry, i ve tried it a few times, the plugin is not showing in Davinci Resolve (latest 17).

    i ve installed the software and unzip the file in the right folder...

    Any ideas? thank you!

    Voukoder wasn't appering neither in 17.4.4. nor in 17.4.5

    Well, if we already have hardware encoding with studio version, that doesn't nearly defeat the purpose of Voukoder? I very much appreciate Voukoder and it's a great piece of software, but except ProRes, VP9 and AV1 (which are very welcome of course and I applaud the developer), studio version already provides QuicSync H264 and H265. I have found they are faster, actually.

    In terms of quality, x264 and x265 are better than hardware solutions, because hardware solution requires money to make larger circuts that implements code the software solution already does (if the encoder section costs under 100USD, they are no match with software encoding), the only advantage is in lossless codecs where the hardware encode runs cooler and faster.

    x264 and x65 from ffmpeg are advantageous in double pass encoding. In single pass, you already have software/native encoding in Resolve, which I consider equivalent in speed/performance.

    As far as I know only single pass is available in Voukoder yet, for SDK constraints. If you want double pass x264/x265, you may export to DNxHD in Resolve and double-pass with ffmpeg/Handbrake later.
