New version 2.1.0 Install

  • Warning :

The default directories proposed by the installer are not correct.

On my machine with multiple systems and multiple versions of Premiere and AfterEffects:

Under W7, the installer voukoder offers

    - for Premiere: C: \ Program Files \ Adobe \ Common \ Plug-ins \ CS6 \ MediaCore
    - for AfterEffects: C \ Program Files \ Adobe \ Adobe After Effects CC 2018 \ Support Files \ Plug-ins

Under W10, the voukoder installer offers

    - for Premiere: C: \ Program Files \ Adobe \ Common \ Plug-ins \ 7.0 \ MediaCore
    - for AfterEffects: C: \ Program Files \ Adobe \ Adobe After Effects CC 2019 \ Support Files \ Plug-ins

While it would have been necessary for all CC applications to choose the common directory:

    C: \ Program Files \ Adobe \ Common \ Plug-ins \ 7.0 \ MediaCore
and possibly if CS6 versions are also present on the machine, the directory:
    C: \ Program Files \ Adobe \ Common \ Plug-ins \ CS6 \ MediaCore

(I have all versions CS6 to CC2019 installed)

Not bad, but it will eventually ask to move these plugins in the right directories.

  • According to the Adobe Software Development Kit any installer should look into the windows registry for the default plugin path.

For Premiere it is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Premiere Pro\CurrentVersion\Plug-InsDir

For After Effect it is: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\After Effects\{Version}\PluginInstallPath

Voukoder is using these values. Currently the installer installs the plugin to the latest version of the applications only.

  • OK,

For Premiere under W7, I recently installed Premiere CS6 to Get Encore CS6, it is why I have

    Current version = C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS6\MediaCore

    and not

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore

But for AfterEffets you are wrong, you must take in the registry the entry :

    CommonPluginInstallPath, witch lead to

    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore\

That is the correct entry, used by all other plugins.
