I'm looking into this already, but it seems to me this SDK is more about plain video encoders and Voukoder is additionally muxing it with audio and exporting it to disk.

Help to improve this plugin and support me on patreon or paypal. Thank you.

I have no idea what that last bit means, but I'm sure it's frustrating. Anyway, I have found your work super useful when I used premier (the build-in encoders in both Premier and Resolve really can't touch x264, as you of course know, and it's a total drag to export a DNxHR or whatever and then take it to handbrake afterwards), but I have since moved to Resolve as many others have and are doing because of Resolves much, much better color workflow and utilization of computer resources. What I'm trying to say is that I think there's a lot of Resolve users out there in need of x264 export possibilities – many probably don't know what they are already missing out on... Anyway, sorry about the rambling, I know you are busy and all with other obligations, and I understand if you can't prioritize this, but I just wanted you to know that we need your skills! :)

I tried to install the x264 plugin to start with this as a base. Unfortunately it doesn't show up in DVR? Any ideas?

That's very strange indeed. You are using DVR 17 Studio version, right? (sorry about the stupid question).

As far as I can gather, the plugins will only work in studio, not the free version. But since you are already using that, I haven't got a clue what could be wrong. It all looks right from screenshot.

    This version:

It doesn't say it's a "Studio" version, but it does include the plugin SDK so I guess it should be working.

Hmm. I think it is supposed to say "studio" in front of the "17". Could it be that the free version includes the SDK and just disables it?

Well, you can download the studio beta version, but I'm actually not sure whether you can use it without a license (for a limited time) or not. But don't you think that BM would be up for giving you a license considering you are improving their program?

I am willing to lend you a license I do own. I have three Resolve licenses (2 dongles and 1 activation key), but only use 2 currently.
(we have been in Email contact (in German) when I tried to lay a direct contact to Resolve's product manager to you).

Thanks. That would at least give me the chance to investigate this topic. The difficulty with Resolve is that plugins have to be designed like the old VfW - simply just an encoder. No muxer, no combination of video and audio.

Good going, Robert. I thought about lending one of my two licenses out, but in the end I do need both of them. Thanks for pushing this forward!
