VoukoderPro not appearing in Premiere Pro on M4 MacBook Air (macOS 26 Tahoe)

  • Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to get VoukoderPro working on my Mac, but no matter what I do, it won’t show up inside Premiere Pro. I’d really appreciate some guidance — I’ve spent several hours reading documentation and older forum threads without any luck.

    System details

    • MacBook Air 15-inch (M4 chip)
    • macOS 26 Tahoe
    • Adobe Premiere Pro (latest version)
    • Installed VoukoderPro using the official macOS installer

    What happens

    • The installer runs fine and completes without errors.
    • When I open Premiere Pro, Voukoder doesn’t appear under “Export → Media” or anywhere else in the encoding/format options.
    • I have multiple other plugins in the same directory that do show up correctly.

    What I’ve checked so far

    1. Installation path
      • The plugin file VoukoderPro.prm.bundle is present at /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/
      • Nothing is installed in my user-specific ~/Library plugin path
    2. Architecture
      • The plugin is a universal binary supporting both Intel (x86_64) and Apple Silicon (arm64), so architecture shouldn’t be an issue.
    3. Console logs
      • No errors or warnings mentioning “Voukoder” appear when launching Premiere.
    4. Other plugins
      • Plugins from other developers in the same MediaCore folder load and appear in Premiere normally.
    5. macOS security settings
      • No “blocked plugin” messages appear in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

    What this seems to indicate

Since the plugin is installed in the correct path, the binary supports Apple Silicon, and Premiere successfully loads other plugins in the same folder, it looks like Premiere simply isn’t registering VoukoderPro as a valid exporter on macOS. This could mean that:

    • VoukoderPro’s macOS integration isn’t fully implemented yet, or
    • Premiere doesn’t recognize the .prm.bundle structure for this particular plugin on macOS.

    Questions

    1. Is VoukoderPro currently supported in Premiere Pro on macOS, especially on M-series chips and macOS 26?
    2. Are there additional steps needed to activate the plugin manually on macOS?
    3. Is there a specific Premiere version required for macOS compatibility?
    4. If macOS support isn’t implemented yet, is there an ETA or workaround, such as using Rosetta or the standard Voukoder plugin instead?

Thanks in advance for any help or clarification!
If it helps, I can provide:

    • Premiere Pro version number and build
    • Full Premiere log output from Terminal
    • Screenshots of my plugin folder and system setup

Appreciate any insight you can share.
